Sirocco Blowing Head (SI001)

The Sirocco Blowing Head is designed for the installation of Enhanced Performance Fibre Units (EPFU) into tubes using compressed air. The Sirocco Blowing Head is used in conjunction with a compressor (petrol or electric, see datasheets SI002 and SI003 respectively) that provides clean, dry, technically oil-free air at 10-bar to propel the fibre unit through the tube. Installation speed, which is controlled by the clutch system, is a maximum 50 m/min.


Sirocco Petrol Compressor (SI002)

The Sirocco Compressor is designed to deliver clean, dry air for installation of optical fibre using the blown fibre technique. The Sirocco blown fibre compressor is a portable, petrol engine driven rotary vane compressor unit. Producing 120 l/min of pulse free treated compressed air at a working pressure of 10 bar, it provides the ideal source for field installation of blown fibre units. An extremely reliable Honda GX240QX OHV Petrol Engine provides power for the compressor.


Sirocco Electric Compressors (SI003)

The Sirocco Compressors are designed to deliver clean dry air for installing optical fibre using the blown fibre technique. All models (240v & 110v for UK applications and similar, 120v for USA & Canada) feature quiet running, electrically driven rotary vane compressor units. These produce 110 l/min of pulse free treated compressed air at a working pressure of 10 bar. Together with their portability this makes them the ideal source of compressed air for inside building blown fibre installations using the Sirocco EPFU bundles.


Sirocco Tube Tester (STILT) (SI006)

The patented Sirocco Tube Integrity & Length Tester (STILT) will enable installers of the Prysmian Sirocco blown fibre solution to ensure that the link (tubes and connectors) to be used to install EPFU is free from any air leaks and that there is an adequate length of blown fibre unit available to complete the installation. The STILT can also be used following completion of the tube installation to confirm its end-to-end air-tight performance and ratification of length of tube installed.

Sirocco Installation Kits (SI009)

To support the introduction of Sirocco, the range of installation equipment necessary to achieve product application is available in a series of starter kits.There are currently four different starter kits available, differentiated by the type of compressor included in the kit. Any of the starter kits will facilitate the installation of point-to-point connections including centre blows for longer distances.


VertiCasaXS Cable Stripping tool (VST) (AC009-05)

The VertiCasaXS Cable Stripping tool (VCST) is typically used in multi dwelling units or office fibre cabling systems where extractable fibre cables like the Prysmian Verticasa cable range have been installed. It is used to create a longitudinal window cut on the cable. The window cut will allow to access the fibre modules inside the cable.


VertiCasaXS Crimp Set (AC010-06)

The VertiCasaXS Crimp Set is used to crimp a fibre module to the pulling rope in a VertiCasaXS drop tube, for pulling the fibre module into the customer premises. It is also used to crimp the 5mm metal crimp ring in the VertiCasaXS Customer Connection Kit.


FTTH Electric Compressor (SI011)

The Sirocco Compressor is designed to deliver clean, dry air for installation of Blown Fibre units using compressed air. The Sirocco Compressor is a quiet, portable, electric motor driving a reciprocating compressor unit. Producing 60 l/min (0.06m3/min, 2.1 cfm) of treated compressed air at a maximum working pressure of 8 bar, it provides the ideal source of compressed air for the installation of blown fibre units for the FTTH market.


VertiCasaXS Storage Reel (AC017-03)

The VertiCasaXS Storage Reel is used to temporarily store an extracted fibre module before installation into a customer drop tube. The reel ensures that the extracted fibre is kept safe from damage, and is stored to the correct bend radius. The fibre module can be simply wound onto the reel as the fibre module is extracted, and wound back off when the fibre module is ready to be installed into the drop tube.

Launch fibre for OTDR measuring

Launch fibres are used in OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectomer) measurements for eliminating effect of the dead zone on the test results. For improved handling of the launch fibre in the field, the fibre is packed in a small, rugged aluminium case, in which the con- nectorized fibre ends are also protected with a hinged cover.
