CPR

CPR (Construction Products Regulation) is a European regulation that ensures that clear requirements are set for the essential properties and performance that construction products must meet. Cables installed in permanent electrical installations of structures (e.g. buildings and civil engineering works) are covered by the CPR with regard to their fire behavior. Cables are classified into different fire classes. From 1 July 2017, cables placed on the market by manufacturers and importers and used in permanent installations of buildings must comply with the CPR fire classification and be supplied with a declaration of performance (DoP) with fire classification and CE marking.

New NEN 8012, what does it mean?

Draka is pleased with the new NEN 8012:2023 that NEN published on 1 July. Thanks to the update, the standard is fully in line with the legal requirements of the Building Decree 2012. There is clarity for everyone about what fire-safe installations must comply with. Unfortunately, the flowchart from NEN 8012:2015 has been replaced by tables. This makes it less easy for consultants, installers and wholesalers to choose the right cable types. Unnecessary, Draka thinks. That is why we make it easier to select a fire-safe cable based on the most recent laws and regulations with a new CPR selection tool.

Declaration of Performance

DoP

With the help of the DoP number you can download performance declarations (DoPs). The DoP number can be found on the product label and in many cases it is also printed on the cable. Click Here for more information about DoPs. It is possible to enter multiple numbers, the values must be separated by a semicolon (;) or 'tab'
