The installation sector is often worn out traditionally. But now that we are full of uncertainties in a period of time, people are looking for something to hold on to again.

In that respect, Den Boer Elektrotechniek B.V. a rock in the surf for customers and employees. For almost 25 years. If you stay traditional long enough, you will automatically become trending.

Wim den Boer himself comes down the stairs to open the outside door of his commercial building. He prefers a personal welcome over intercom contact. It is that accessible. The director / owner of the installation company treats people with respect and always sails on his moral compass. He embodies what his company stands for: ‘ reliability and customization ’.

Atypical
It is difficult to put Den Boer Electrical Engineering in a box in terms of company profile. “ We are atypical ”, says the namesake with some pleasure. “ We work on registration, but mostly on a relationship basis. ” Over the years, he has built up good contacts with various architectural firms, investors and contractors for whom his company realizes e-installation projects throughout the Netherlands. This results in a varied portfolio of historic buildings, including the St. Jan in Den Bosch ( “ there are few installers who can design and make historical building lighting ” ), into catering, smaller housing projects and utility.

Earn credits
The installation company with 22 employees has many disciplines in-house, such as lighting, burglary, fire safety and home automation installations in the broadest sense of the word. For more complex matters, she works with companies that suit her well, because selling no is not an option. “ We have partners who, like us, keep appointments and can communicate with customers. Because everyone is bothered when things go wrong. You have to work hard to earn credits, but you also lose them quickly. ” Nothing goes without saying for the man who feels responsible for customers and gives his technicians a lot of freedom to unburden them.

Blijderveen Pallets
Construction company J.G. Timmer is such a good relationship between Den Boer Electrical Engineering. Through this contractor from Kesteren he received various installation assignments, ranging from a swimming pool and holiday homes to the recent new company housing of Blijderveen Pallets B.V. in Maurik. The EPAL-certified company supplies new and used pallets ( also rental ), which it produces and repairs itself. In addition to the office, the location has large production halls and storage facilities. For this purpose, Den Boer Elekrotechniek provided the entire e-installation, including the planning, routing and feeding of the pallet sorting and repair line with various stackers and repair tables up to and including the lighting and the electric door locks. Work was finished in just three months. “ And we as a company are proud of what our technicians have achieved here. ”

Loyal to Draka
All cabling for the pallet factory comes from Draka, says region manager Dennis Premsela of Draka, who has been the permanent contact person for Den Boer for a year. Conversely, Den Boer has known ( 60 ) Draka for much longer.

“ Draka has been part of it since I was sixteen, as a private label ”, he says naturally.

“ They have competitive prices for cables that we can process well; that is important if you have them in your fingers every day. In addition, they provide good service and support, such as cable calculations, with which they completely unburden us. That's why I remain loyal to Draka. ”

The human factor
He sometimes misses this unburdening at the wholesaler. “ Delivery reliability is sometimes lost and the installer is no longer in first place. A lot has been automated and I no longer see some representatives, while they are the first point of contact to solve things. The human factor is one of the most important things in life, especially now that not everyone still trusts each other. People should feel appreciated, even by keeping appointments. ”

Sowing and harvesting
As Den Boer is always ready for his employees ( “ If people are well-versed, they perform better ” ), which in turn is ready for customers. Recently, a mechanic unsolicited sacrificed his free Saturday to complete the installation work for a customer, whose husband had suddenly died, free of charge. Whoever sows will reap:

“ We get a lot of work because we invest a lot in relationships and people, not in advertisements. ”
