A specialized and experienced jointing team

The installation team consists of 35 jointers and supervisors capable of implementing projects of 50 kV up to and including 500 kV. The jointing Teams are coordinated by the site managers who are, in close cooperation with the costumer or (civil) subcontractor, preparing the jointer works and to conduct the work during the installation.

Each jointer has a personal passport containing a registration of obtained jointing and safety certificates. The certification is granted after successfully completing an extensive training program consisting of a both theoretical and practical part. This certification has a limited validation and on an annual basis certificates are only extended by our certification committee based on work performed and developed skills.

For the qualification of the jointers, Prysmian has set-up four training schools in different countries, of which one is situated in Prysmian Netherlands HQ in Delft.

Focused on minimizing time on the installation site

One of the challenges in power transmission projects is the planning process could take many years. Obtaining right-of-way access, that is, the legal right to pass along a specific route through grounds or property belonging to others, can take a long time. As such, Prysmian takes as priority developing technologies that minimize the time on construction sites.

The factory-prepared CLICK-FIT cable ends allow the cable preparation to be completely done in the factory. The preparation of the cable in Prysmian facilities provides a reduction of on-site assembly time giving overall installation savings and less risk of delays. Together with this, in the factory-controlled environment, the quality of the assembly plug is improved, and the electrical testing can also be performed providing better reliability of the cable system.

Track record of experience and success

Safety is our top priority

Prysmian Netherlands scored step 3 on the Safety Culture Ladder (SCL) confirming objectively that the safety of Prysmian employees is our first priority.

This certification indicates that safety at Prysmian Netherlands has a structurally high priority in terms of awareness, attitude and behavior since the SCL is all about culture and behavior. For Prysmian Netherlands, safety is not a status, but a process that requires self-learning. The score 3 in SCL proves that Prysmian Netherlands is able to organize its activities in such a way that all stakeholders can carry out the joint projects in a responsible, involved and safe manner.
